Theme: Tree

Dharma

A tree was once only a seed
Its limbs were only twigs
Roots only a tiny reed
The leaves on the top could
See to the bottom leaves’ need

Soon the roots were forgotten
As it grew to be many feet tall
Leaves from the top and the bottom
Met only when there was fall

But all were kept together
By each one – the top and bottom leaves
And the roots in the deep
Doing their “Dharma” for the good of all

For the tree to endure storms
And not fall.

Comment Fantastic uncle! Your poem is a true inspiration for the youth especially, who are forgetting their roots in their mad race for materialism. Thanks for this awakening call!
