As I took my walk today in the park
in the bright sunshine, thoughts were sentimental,
matching the fading scenery, the stark
reminder that force of sunlight like mental
fire could not prevail the seasonal syndrome;
but I should walk this path with equal zeal
as spring or summer; the constant of sunshine
stage-lighting nature’s phases; the appeal
of exercise a dimension unknown
among plants; perhaps, gain an intimation
in gentle swaying; whose drama is shown
as they stand, and not seen as limitation –
no! - where in the wild they take root, they die;
motion an illusion humans enjoy.
