It's an irony of life
When a desire is fulfilled
Greed fuels more...
With unrestrained desire
Or trishna as many call it
You are unable to enjoy
In life, you earn a lot
Yet don't wear or eat good
And live with content
'Cause in an endless greed
You want to consolidate,
Lust and envy for more.
Desire puts you in conflict
With whole lot of others
Desire compels you to compromise
With universal values and ethics
Desire unsettles your mind
To ramble between past and future.
The unbridled desires cause
Avoidable stress and unhappiness
And screw up your present
So better use your intellect
If you could, to prevent.
