Flaring Gusto

Meaningless sounds Sounding some meaning In our meaningless life To make it meaningful In the nuisance blend Of the nonsensical world Remain ever speaking… Soundless hullabaloo Uprising of emotions And innermost feelings Better the silent sound Ushering in thoughts For uplift of humanity… Scattering lights gloat Beyond the horizons Dawn(y), dusky, rusty Enlightening the mind To unfold and unfurl Singing and dancing flag On the mast of despair… Life facade gets impetus By bloody bruise roused; But its backbone rolls on Gusty sway of flaring gusto.

Interpretation of the poem...

Even all the meaningless things of life want us to take a lesson from them in our life which is fragile and transitory and futile as well. The world itself is an illusion as the Vedantik Philosophy says. However, every object is a source of inspiration and lesson so as to give some meaning to our life with some service done to us ,and to our society.

The second stanza highlights the fruitful impact of the the external events on our internal being.Even inside us there lies a commotion which then leads to formation of thoughts silently and these thoughts forth out for betterment of the throng of the people.

The third stanza provides a path of light to dispel the gloom of heart and bring about the advent of happiness- supposed to be a state of mind.

The concluding stanza sums it up all. The struggles in life push us forward and so pushed up, we enjoy our life with full of enthusiasm. Deeper meaning is subject to variation, depending on the mental and literary height of the reader.

Apart from the thematic analysis, the poem also deserves a mention of the literary devices used to bring home the point. The use of symbolism in the poem just adds the beauty of the poem. The "light"- in its multifarious hues signifies the educational tool through which we can enlighten us by lighting our path. Auditory and visual images are of the specific importance. For expressing something subtle, it is essential to take recourse to certain objects of nature and hence the use of natural objects and sounds
