Vote for Homeland, Always

My homeland has such soil,
Which has the rich fragrance,
Resplendent with her past glories:
When bravery was her second skin,
Stood as a bastion against alien invaders,
When resilience was our breath,
Went through pestilence and plagues,
When her patience paid dividends against excesses,
Stood well despite many a religious turmoil.

I am proud of civilizations ancient long before Buddha,
As also proud of our unique Gandhi, Tagore, Mother Teresa,
To name a few in the land of Ganges flowing sacred still,
Where human values are on a higher pedestal,
Where good old familial bonds never looked back,
Where hospitality takes first place like in our surnames,
Where contentment is virtue, women revered religiously,
Our elders still holding the fort, the young ever modest and brilliant,
Their new skills and knowledge turning world class,
Such excellence setting new benchmarks in every field,
Where freedom and democracy transformed as new religions;
And into which soil of my homeland,
I shall go into one day with all our dreams,
To be born once again like my ancestors—
Continue enjoy my homeland one more time.
