A moving green line
There is a green line,
Emitting sweet sound,
Moving very fast
Up there---
In the big blue sky,
What is that moving green line?
Asked the wide-eyed child, her granny,
Sitting in a tiny balcony of a crowded high-rise.
After peering high, she smiled,
Oh! That is a long-tailed
Green parrot, flying in the crisp morning air,
Speaking to his mother, and singing to
Others in the family,
The happy parrot,
Moving about freely
In the big blue sky,
Replied the amused grandmother,
To the four-year-old urban child.
Do they wake up so early?
Yes, my child
But why?
To greet the sun and the morning,
All creatures small or big
Wake up early to welcome
The fresh dawn and early day,
Answered the grey granny wise;
Then why Mom-Dad wake up so late?
Asked the child, and,
The grandmother could only smile.
