Sandy, the Super Storm

Again, yet again, it is a remote
tribulation, to me, the massive swirl
smashing head-on into impregnable
America’s east coast, the vengeful note,
overriding prayers, that impresses one;
the overview, some form of justice done.

America’s own day of reckoning
has come, though not for a moment so judged
by opinion; yet, it cannot be fudged
in evidence, havoc betokening
Divine retribution, the bible belt
resonates with, across the board is felt.

But in the aftermath, will there be change
of heart, or foreign policy? - we think
not: in this scientific age we shrink
not from deploying all means in our range
to shock and kill the enemy; control
is everything, though it be fractional.
