Theme: Perception

Each to His Own

Some simply write what they call a poem
Of stray thoughts that in their minds roam!
They write poems in one go - in no time
Managing to flow freely and even rhyme!

Then there are those who compose poetry
With deep, fine thinking and much artistry...
Selecting each word with such care
As if encrusting gems very rare…

The “composer” polishes each draft
‘Cos to him, his poetry is serious craft…
Each word has to fall smoothly in place –
He can’t afford to be even slightly blasé.

The “Instant” writer seems in a hurry.
About how he comes across, doesn’t worry.
Outpouring of words seems like a gush…
Which he puts together in equal rush!

While the “composer” follows certain rules,
The instant “writer” employs no major tools.
But each obviously loves to write -
One takes it heavy and one light!
