This twinkling, single star.
Lost in the limbo of unrequited love.
Jupiter has closed his eye to her.
Saturn spins out of sight.
The comet rushes by. He has more
Deserving suitors to pursue.
Mars unfurls his crimson cloak;
And turns his back to gaze at Venus;
Who radiates devotion.
Mercury makes his excuses and slinks away.
Wise, knowing Neptune keeps his distance;
He's seen the havoc this twinkling one wreaks.
And the Moon shines; smiling in argent pleasure;
Satisfied not just she is alone tonight.
