Pandit Ravishankar - A Requiem

Pandit Ravishankar – A Requiem
(07 April, 1920 – 12 December, 2012)

Pandit Ravishankar’s sitar and music
Always created lasting spell and magic!
For him, boundaries mattered the least!
His music merged the West and East.
As his fingers danced on sitar strings
One felt drenched with several springs!

Don’t miss the Raag Pilu duet on sitar-violin*
By Pandit Ravishankar and Yehudi Menuhin
To experience real life euphoria
Created by their musical ambrosia!
Oh, this is just one of his several creations
That set high standards of music rendition!

Yehudi Menuhin or George Harrison -
They all had this to say in unison:
Ravishankar made Indian music univeral
His creativity and genius had no parallel!

Grammy’s posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award
Would certainly not be the last for this musical bard!
His music lives in many a heart
Of which he shall always be a part!

Pandit Ravishankar – Rest in peace!
Amidst Sitar notes that never cease!
