Theme: Rape

Wolves

Lurking restlessly
like the wolves in heat
the rapists
ganged to hunt

Deifying the devil
with anger, marauding rage
and the brutal power of violence
            eroticizing debauchery
            mocking law and order

Terrorized, tortured and devastated
with coercive sexual assaults
inflicting pain
traumatizing the prey

How will the cadaverous
reclaim
what was stolen
in the gruesome ordeal?

Alas!
At the nadir of heinous impulses
the precept of culpability
grows lifeless
in a deteriorating social order

Comment Gang rapists - a collection of impotents - carrying a stigma of individually failed manhood.

Comment The focus of the poem in the last two paragraphs is concerned, blunt and clear. Well done Rajender!

Comment 19 December 2012
TO: Mr. Rajrnder Krishan

Ms. Padmaja Iyengar & Mr. Dipanker Dasgupta have hit the nail on the head by upgrading the wolves above the rapists.

Comment It'd be an insult of the wolves to compare the rapists with them! Everyone knows what to expect from a pack of wolves! But the rapists....?

Comment Do wolves rape? Are they capable of debauchery? They seem like an innocent lot compared to humans! Is society doomed? I recall your other composition on the killing of kindergarten kids. Where are we headed? A dilemma that a pack of wolves don't suffer from.

Comment Really Rajendraji, I am of the opinion that its high time, rapists are given capital punishment or shoot at sight, without any law proceedings.

I am not trying to be harsh, only saying that, it is high time! Did we not take strong steps towards drugs in Indonesia/Singapore?

In Delhi/UP/ Haryana, it is almost an epidemic.

Comment The Capital of the Nation is also the Rape Capital of the country. Such acts keep occurring with such regularity. 'Governance' has become a joke.

Comment Statelessness in the state capital. It calls for capital punishment to be put in place against such wretched wolves. Your out-pour is apt, fluid and quick; and pray, so should be the change in laws.

Comment Very apt! Poet---as a social commentator. Needs more such questioning poetry.

Comment I concur with your explicitly expressed (probably even more intense than what is expressed) spirit.
