The Divine Light
And then came the Shepherd
On an earthly mission of mercy and compassion,
Spreading holy Word and love,
And got crucified for the same,
The Prince among the princes,
The King among the kings,
The Savior,
The Messiah,
Heralded by the Star and the Magi,
This humble carpenter family blessed
By the Holy Birth in the manger
On a cold bitter night watched by the
Gentle lambs and other dumb creatures,
And a Light filled the world;
O, my Christ, Beloved,
I seek you again in these violent times,
Where people fight over the legacy
Left by you and others that followed
Your philosophy of one-world,
Your message is needed more urgently now,
The One who died and bled for the sins of the others,
Let the Divine Light that once shown in Bethlehem
Shine again in each dark corner and grim heart,
And let us discover our dear Christ within us
By spreading the language of love, peace,
Compassion and mercy,
In the warring Jerusalem and Gaza,
And other hot spots of the divided world,
Because in these globalized times,
Fast food,
Commercialized Customs
Christ,
Our beloved
Jesus,
Smiling,
Kind,
Arms outstretched,
Belongs to not
Only the followers
But,
To all of us,
Those who believe in
Peace and one humankind,
Merry Christmas! |
