Aftermath

Irrespective of
How precious or priceless
A thing or a person
May be in our life
We often fail to acknowledge
And take cognizance of
Needful and timely action
To claim or retain the thing
To nurture and seal a relationship
So as to prevent it going
Away or astray forever
From our life.

It is only
After we lose it,
In the aftermath, we realize
Its worth and significance
Only to regret and repent
Later on for our acts of
Omission and commission
Knowing very well
Now we can't
Redress or retrieve it
For the rest of our life.

Thank you, Kulbir Ji, a continuous change is the nature of universe. What is present now becomes past next moment and future is taken over by present. To my mind, joy and sorrow are two sides of the same coin and it's good enough if in the journey of continuous change, you continue to perform your karmic duties without being too much attached or affected by these two.
