Humans are those
Who really empathize with others
In their dire or distress state
Either with a kind word,
Or a helping hand,
Or at least their deliberate silence.
Otherwise they are lifeless beings,
And that too is welcome, mostly.
The worst case is when
They derive sadistic pleasure
At others’ plight and exploit
The situation or people,
And here I wonder
What they should be called,
Namesakes or otherwise!
