It’s a mouth painter’s impression, a picture
whose aesthetic balance of houses and
church, a stone bridge reflected in a river,
snow lain streets empty, life there at a stand-
still, the armless artist us to disarm,
his own creation of tranquillity
features us out of sight, within us calm
as of our other side, ability
to sustain correct behaviour; unseen
ourselves the artist’s species, us disabled,
inheritors made of this tranquil scene,
to enter which, to know; to be enabled.
The Tranquil Village is a painting with the mouth
by Trevor Wells working under the auspices of
The Mouth & Foot Painters Association (MFPA) based
in London, UK.
