Loud wailing was heard that fateful morning,
Across the street, soaked in blood, she did lie.
Her abductor had left her there to die,
A trembling body, under an awning.
Passersby appeared not to hear or see,
The pathetic plight of a young woman,
Battered by a crazed and bestial man.
Now for life, she can never be fear free.
Frantic calls were made to the hospital.
After some tense moments - an ambulance,
Could be heard rolling in from a distance.
Quick medical attention was vital.
To save her life and find the criminal,
Were principles thought to be cardinal.
