Theme: Melancholy

Full Moon

moon17.jpg

On those wintry moonlit nights
In my own solitude
So often I wish to peer out
Of my bedroom window
To have a glimpse of you,
O, Full Moon!

I get envious to find
All worldly things, except me
In the nature on the mother earth
Bathed in the radiant milky light
Are shining under your full splendour.

And then I'm tempted
To venture out of my shell
For a rendezvous in open
Ending an ageless wait
To quench my thirst of love
On the sublime moonlit night.

All of a sudden then
An unknown fear, an unseen barb
From the ghosts of the dark past
Gripping my conscience
Compels me to close my only window
And an utter darkness engulfs
My soul, mind and heart.
