I sat through the poetry session diligently
and listened to the seven poets with attention.
Thirty-five poems in all
was quite heavy listening.
The variety of the contents,
the styles of the poets
held all of us enthralled.
Never had I the opportunity
to listen to so many poems
with rapt attention.
The serving was quite heavy.
When I said: excellent poetry session
one poet asked me to confirm my comment
more than once.
I said: Excellent Job!
Rarely have I been such a rapt listener.
It is only rare that a poetry session goes with such excellence
and all the poets come out with stars.
But poetry listening can be so heavy
was proved in just a span of one hour.
I realised, a poetry fraternity is
so different from other fraternities.
I shudder to think,
if this world was without poets!
