The blue of the hills and the blue of the horizon
Are meeting in a union
In rhymes and rhythms
The ceremonial chant is being sung
By the sky and the earth
In this autumn the woodland is bathing
In the rays of the golden sun.
In the bunch of some yellow flowers
A mauve color bee seeks honey.
Among all these here I am
And from all around I hear
The sky is soundlessly clapping.
Does Kalimpong know it
In my delight
The colors and sounds have got mixed ?
The hills store endless time on their peaks
Only one of my days
Gave them a bridal garland.
To announce this auspicious news
In the sky, in all directions
Rings a gong in this golden morning -
Has it been heard by Kalimpong ?
