Theme: Love

Sailor

The love of her life was on his way
To try his luck in a different bay.
The sun was warm, and her heart was cold.
The rain and storm ...were unfortold.

The eyes of a stranger were all she could see.
The strength of a man, as determined as he.
And she couldn't stop the rain if it fell…
But she could still pray that her love would be well.

In a gust of wind he waved goodbye,
And all they could hear was the Seagulls cry.
In another instant he was gone.
There was sure to be rain, and there would be storm.

Somehow she knew, that her lover was strong.
And she waited and waited…but wasn't forlorn.

The days turned to weeks, and her smiles turned to tears,
The rain broke her heart…and cradled her fears,
And soon she began to build her own boat,
The ocean had swallowed the letters she wrote.

And heart brave as summer, she hoisted the sails,
And went out to sea, with her cheeks turning pale,
And all through the summer the townspeople swore,
She would never return, to the safety of shore.

But one day they saw on the distant horizon,
The darkness of sails, and the shapes slowly rising.
Until it was clear- the young man had returned,
Triumphant with treasures, and stories he'd learnt.

And he looked for his love,
And he searched high and low.
Though the villagers told him,
She'd wanted to go.

And he tried and he searched
But she didnt return.
And he ordered the village,
And forests to burn.

But again, it was only
a man's vain ambition,
And nothing could cipher
a young lover's diction.

Because a young girl
has a heart like a mirror.
It will only reflect,
all the love you can give her.

The stars tell the story
of how much I love you.
Long after I'm gone,
it is written above you.

And somehow you'll know,
You were always a part.
Of the undying love,
In a girl's beating heart.
