Theme: Nostalgia

Holy Beach

It has been thirty four years ever since
I am revisiting this coastal holy town
So excited to relive nostalgic past
But escorts wouldn't understand it
The only saving grace remains
They are keeping a few yards distance

Now I am standing at this holy beach
In a nostalgic mood to enjoy solitude
But a cheerful looking young couple
Out there to have fun and enjoy
Only at a few yards' distance
Divert my attention and thoughts...

In a flash of moments I notice
The boy quickly whispers a few things
For a moment the girl appears shocked
Then both of them laugh out loud
Affectionately come closer for a hug
Then smile and hand in hand
Together they move forward...

An instant thought occurs in my mind
It's our inherent nature and attitude
How we take things as they come
That really makes us happy or sad...

Then I truly feel sorry for the boy
Caught in somewhat a similar situation
On this very beautiful beach in the past
Who behaved so childish and inane
And perhaps the girl too for a while
Unsure in mind, acted not so wise
Unaware then of what was in store
As an aftermath of an innocent folly
In the years to come in their life!
