Theme: Poverty

Poverty

Let Us Bridge the Gap

It’s the land of crops and grains,
The land of rivers and lakes,
The land of hills and mountains,
Oh! It’s also the land of beggars.

Grains for the rich,
Grains for mice,
Grains for ticks,
Grains for ants
Oh! None for the poor.

Tons and tons rot annually
Tons and tons are destroyed occasionally,
But none for the needy!
They are cursed,
They open eyes amid poverty,
They close eyes amid poverty,
Oh! No condolences on death,
No celebration on birth.

Moon is reached,
Mountain is scaled,
Oh! The humanity is ashamed,
They wake up hungry,
Sleep hungry,
Dirty hands, untidy tangled hairs,
Dirty face, yellow teeth,
Pale eyes, torn clothes,
Forced to beg for a penny.

Useless to scale hills and mountains,
Unworthy to reach heavenly bodies,
Rift has to be mended up,
Care is a must,
Bridge the gap,
Be human - help human,
Formulate rules,
Reformat your conscience
Kick out poverty!
