Beads of Tears (Anshu Mala)

A sweet nightingale
Once crooned, bloomed
Perched on a musical tree.

Rooted in a cultural garden
Of love, lore and learning
She musically enthralled all.

Her life smiled on
Bringing smiles on sad faces
Now engulfed in gloomy tears.

Her sweet songs
Of hope and happiness
Turned into songs of despair.

Wings of health clipped
The crooning beauty
Fallen down into gloom and grief

The cruel Time
Looks adamant on snatching
Ever mesmerizing voice of hers.

Bed-ridden, grief-stricken
Lying frail, fragile and pale
She writhes with a pathetic tale.

Songs of the singing tears
Cascading on her moistened cheeks
Need not her audiences’ clappings
But a little bit humane help and succor.

Note: Anshu Mala Jha, an accomplished Maithili singer whose talent has fetched her good vibes in the Classical, Ghazal & Folk singing got training under mentors Pt Rajan & Sajan Mishra & Shri Gautam Banerjee.
