How I wish my sleep goddess
Cajoles me into her lap of warmth
And restores me back into one piece
For I am unable to sleep for many days
Nor I couldn’t steal some time at work.
And lo! My doctor says eight hours is right;
Believe me I don’t bat my eyelid for once
Except winking at my sleeping wife
Who stops her snoring the very next minute
Just to curse me for robbing her sleep.
How I wished she talked away
The whole night so that I could
Have my forty winks.
