One hears occasionally
some middle-aged man marrying his daughter's friend.
This is incest,
though not so technically.
From deep down the dark in human
raises its ugly head.
A non-discerning falls prey.
The divinity of men
so often wallows in dust
just because they will not cultivate the lofty in life.
For them, life has offered the base, the profane.
May be one life more,
or some more,
will take them to a superior life.
One can only feel pity
for their failures of this life,
however well-off they may be.
