Theme: Philosophy

Wisdom of An Old Bard

An Old bard
In torn clothes
Drawn from
Riches to rags

Pitied not his condition
Thought not of his age
Philosophy in his song
Touching all the hearts

Every street
In the town
Is the stage
Where he sings

Selling wisdom
Seeking alms
His haunting tunes
Break the morning calm

After all he isn’t acting
A victim of circumstances
May be it’s his own making
But pathetically announcing

Life is anguish
Life is pain
Life is misery
Life is sorrow,
It comes fully laced
And it offers no retribution

Though there is happiness
Though there is charm
Though there is joy and
You do have everything

Still when you depart
You carry nothing
"Rain is water,
Water is rain
In between
The vapour
Is that ‘everything’"
