Mastery and ease
In the use of legalese,
Ability to freely articulate
And cleverly manipulate,
The case in his client’s favour –
All hallmarks of a successful lawyer.
He so convincingly argues his case
To convince the judge in many ways –
Using circumstantial evidence
And several legal precedents,
That the judge grants an acquittal,
And considers the case fit for dismissal.
No wonder that many politicians of today,
Were successful lawyers in their heyday.
Their ability to convince the judge,
Surely gives them the cutting edge
To be seen and heard in parliament,
Glibly putting forth their argument.
Lawyers and politicians have the gift of the gab,
And know how and where to their pointers jab.
