The new-born day in its cool tranquility Holds many promises for all, Of fulfillment of dreams; The gentle rays of the rising sun Enveloping Mother Earth in its golden warmth Sending ripples of magic and delight Of a new-found love; Shaking from deep slumber all- Man, flowers and dove Each looking up at the glitter of the rays Treading softly like a bride, Like a beauty being unveiled Before the lustful gaze of a lover, And- Dazzled by its golden brightness He steps back fascinated, Then recovers soon, Pauses For a second or two Before devouring the day In its splendor, Sparkling, glittering; As he enters further into the day- His union with the day Makes him sweat and pant, Then- As the day yields fruit Of his labor, Every pore of his being Explodes like a thousand stars And, Fills him with ecstasy.
