Theme: Spiritual

Gurdwara

On this side of the gate is “I
On that side of the gate is “Supreme”
The Guru stands at the Gate

Beware of charlatans!

Be alert and cognize
       Fear not
       because
The True Guru doesn’t spare

The Guru will destroy
your most precious possession
− the Ego

Are you ready?

If yes:
You will cross the Gate (dwar)
and become one with the One
I” will cease
Even the concept of “God”
will disappear

The realization
The attainment
− will simply be −
the primordial energy
       the sound of the silence

Ik Onkar Satnam*

* One  - Primordial Energy - Supreme Truth

Ik Onkar Satnam are the first three words of the Mulmantra
(the prologue) of Guru Nanak's Japuji Sahib

Comment One has to undergo
The 'labour'
To separate 'me' - the ego

Transcend
and
Experience

The oneness
Supreme
Ik Onkar Satnam
Sri Vaheguru!

Comment A few days ago I heard someone saying 'Ik,onkar, satnam' in some context I do not remember, and I kept on wondering what the meaning could be! I do not remember much else that was said before or after it, only these words reached my ears as also my heart. And now, after reading this poem, I got to know the meaning, and I think now I also know why these particular words are the ones which my mind retained from the whole speech!

Comment Lovely, thought provoking poem, Rajender.

Here is a tanka I wrote almost two years back. I felt like posting it here, as a response.

I stand
barefooted before god
my slippers
outside the temple gate
along with my ego

Comment A good poem-lesson that awake the senses and promote deep thinking, in particular to those like me totally ignorant of those concepts. You have the ability to make it seem simple , but we know better. Bravo Raj and thank you.
