The delicate fragrance
Of lovely colorful roses
Wafts freely everywhere Down the valley of beauty,
Through thick and thin
On clouds of firing smoke
Defying the scary gunshots.
With a rising crescendo
Of deep-rooted bigotry,
Hatred among fanatics,
Communal flare-up erupts
Disrupting the social fabric
Of the communal harmony,
Their lovely serene faces
Turn stark pale and terrified,
The roses lose their beauty
Under the sullen smoggy sky
Yet the billowing fragrance
Lingers in gusty winds of hope!
