Destination Unknown - A Tapestry Poem

By Shernaz

Life stretched before you like a railway track.
You the train, you the engine driver, you the passenger
In search of destinations nameless, obscure, baffling

Rumbling through the tunnels of your emotions
To unravel the mysteries at the other hidden end
Incisive, probing, taking fear head-on
You chugged bravely over the tracks
of scarred childhood and bewildered youth.

Then changing route...found the pathway to your goal

By Avril

To where am I heading?
I know not;
veils of secrecy obscure the future.
But for sure , one day my heart
will cease to beat and then....

Pictures, painted in words
by all religions and philosophies,
offer varying glimpses;
the greatest mystery to intrigue mankind.

Tapestry

To where am I heading?
I know not...
Life stretches before me like a railway track
obscured in veils of secrecy
as I search for nameless, baffling destinations.

I the train, I the engine driver, I the passenger
rumble through tunnels of emotions
gaining varying glimpses of the future.

My heart, incisive, probing, taking fear head-on
bravely chugs, over tracks
of scarred childhood and bewildered youth
Until one day it will cease to beat.

The route will change -
The mystical pictures of the other end
painted in words by all religions and philosophies,
will surely be unravelled

Comment A Tapestry Poem that is at once profound and so very realistic about the unknown destination of life's journey...or is perhaps the final, inevitable destination is known but the journey enroute is mystical with thought, faith and religion leading us through...Thanks for sharing this philosophical tapestry Avril and Shernaz! Kudos!
