A long journey
Of zest and zeal
Abruptly stopped
Mid way
A thorny pavement
In a glade
Deserted
Succour thwarted, My gladness vanquished
Vanished
Into a dark plunge
Of sheer sadness
Innermost silence
Broken
By shivering throbs
All around
Dismal ground
With the fences
Of circumferences
Of weeds and twigs
Of growing sorrow
Bereft of the light
Of brighter morrow.
Hope’s offshoot
Takes a back foot
For a little while.
As darkness of despair
Deepens,
It then slackens down
Hope hops out
Of the veil of hopelessness
With a great intensity
Smile glows
And grows in multitudes
With dews of tears
Receding
Melting the gripping fear
Of unexpected dooms,
With inner strength
Sustained forbearance
In tidal waves of unfelt thoughts
That raise great upheavals in heart.
