Blissful Nothingness

My mind has now reached a level;
It absorbs neither sense nor drivel...
It seems to be all blank and empty;
My heart feels neither sad nor happy...

The earlier nonstop chatter in my brain,
Seems to have ebbed without any strain.
I like this sense of being dumb...
I like this state of being numb...

Nothing touches me, nothing can I feel...
Everything seems to be on an even keel...
No loss, no gain
No pleasure, no pain...

Without a worry or care,
At nothingness, I stare.
There is no expectation.
There is no deliberation.

Suspended animation..?
Animated suspension...?
Neither state bothers me,
As there is no I, You or We...

When nothing affects one,
There’s no fear or tension.
I’m neither a master nor a slave.
I am neither scared nor am I brave.

This sense of inertia...
This state of absentia...
Is easy to preach,
But difficult to reach.

Once one attains this state,
There is no love, no hate.
Nothingness is all that’s there,
As life becomes stark and bare...

This state of mind –
Nirvana, try and find -
It leaves one completely fulfilled and pleased,
As there is nothing left to be gained or seized...

Padmaja , Wonderful poem.. I liked this state of mind .. so serene , peaceful , neither a master,, nor a slave, no love no hate .. neutral to all .. the fact of life so well depicted and brought to light... nothing is permanent .. the seasons of life keep changing ..... I envy this state of yours .. wish to reach there ....Thanks for sharing this profound poem..
