Links That Last

Ensconced in an emerald circlet of hills.
In silent communion sat I and the Earth
“Forgive us, o giver of Life, for the hurt
And the havoc we wreak on you”

Without reproach, without bitterness
Her Mother’s compassionate heart
To my repentant one, sweetly replied,
“Child, take my message to mankind...
I fear for them; their destructive ways
will boomerang to haunt their days.

Let go of terror and dark oppression;
My children, seek fresh modes of expression
to celebrate the Oneness of divine creation.
Let rays of kindness inundate your spirits;
Rise, rise with a Buddha’s compassion to heal
hurting, bleeding, depraved humanity
Restore for good, its vanished, godlike glory.
Come, join hands, entwine hearts,
Knit a chain of love with links that last.”
