Theme: Abstract

A Song and a Lesson

"we shall overcome some day"
  let the black clouds gather
  shroud and smother
  but surely will come out
  silver or golden
  shaft and the cherished ray.
  Dented hard yet not broken heart
  sinks but rebounds fast...
  this sailor will not drown
  at the tempest's frown
  the eyes look at the farthest shore
  harder efforts attempt more
  buffet ahead on wavy floor.
  Fie on shy, timid deaths
  blemished last grasping breaths!
  Bold life fights on
  when duty calls upon
  not only for prized crown!
