She was only a breath away,
our eyes met square,
I blinked and laughed
like I always do with girls.
She changed her mind walking
I changed my dripping clothes
we took our own direction.
Now that we have met
we need no introduction,
she did not say be seeing you,
nor did I promise time.
Sitting back I think of her
with whom will she be now,
whose wife would be weeping,
whose mother wailing loud.
This death is such a damsel
who wrecks the heart she enters,
she’ll kiss you on the lips
and take the last breath out.
For bards who are ready,
she quietly passes by
and takes their blink for wink.
