One morning while walking down,
The river bed wearing a red gown,
I met a lovely red rose;
Standing like a beauty queen a smile she pose.
Just then a breeze of wind blew...
And in the air all the fragrance flew.
"Life is fragrant" I took a deep breath
And looked at the rose secretly smiling beneath.
Then I moved on to a town
Wearing the same red colored gown,
I saw a temple and heard a bell;
And I saw God and to his feet where the same roses had fell.
Lost in the peace I closed my eyes
Relaxed felt I from all woes and sighs
"Life is peaceful" I took a deep breath
And looked at the rose secretly smiling beneath.
Afternoon I met a girl beautiful and dear,
She offered me a rose and came too near,
A few magical words is what she say,
That made my heart happy and gay.
Lost in the bliss I quietly confessed,
Looking at the rose that now I possessed,
"Life is lovely" I took a deep breath;
And looked at the rose secretly smiling beneath.
Then I went to a market place,
Crowded and busy like a horse's race;
I gathered a place comfortable to stand,
But found some one lying on the land.
Alas ! It was the rose trodden and tampered ,
By the feet of people, its beauty was hampered.
"Life is misery", I whispered with a deep breath;
But found the rose still smiling beneath.
At twilight in a white gown I was bound ,
Before being buried forever in the ground;
I smelled the same fragrance in the air,
Of the roses lying on the coffin I wear.
I opened my eyes to look at the roses for a while
Strangely this time the rose did not smile;
As never the color was deep red,
And unusually her body looked wet.
For the last time she looked into my eye,
"Life is illusion" said the rose with a sigh.
And she took a long parting breath
I lied below, secretly smiling beneath.
Lost in the emptiness my soul whispered
With all the bliss the last words it delivered
"Long live Roses!!! Thou life divine"
And my soul took the longest breath
And looked at God secretly smiling beneath.
