Year after year
Year comes
As a new hope
To grow old
Only to die out
In deep despair
As a complete past,
An incomplete present!
Year to year
Resolutions taken
Surely rest
In fact rusted
Only to be renewed
Once again,
Joy is over-enjoyed
Before it brims,
A part of life is lived
More happily
With 'bra and brew'
Of the exotic eve,
New Year's resolutions
Recede in oblivion
Almost lost for ever
Merely as scraps,
Torn and twisted
Out of life's year-book
Hoping against the hope!
