Lost in Greece

Yonder lay the frost
resting calmly in peace
of some mind ,lost-
in the fairylands of Greece.

The 'tender' sunlight
dazzles on its face
the moon o'er the height,
weeps lonely in solace.

The cruel merchants bargain,
o'er the uprooted heart ;
with gold to buy disdain
and money to sell the other part.

The little bird that felt
the pain of Alexander,
will fly when the snows melt,
o'er the Greek mountains
sleeping under.
