Theme: Tapestry

A Tapestry Poem - Soar Like An Eagle

Soar Like An Eagle - Shernaz

Resisting the gravity of mental blocks
fleeing the narrow confines of selfishness
shatter the shackles of fear, lack and oppression

When your course is twisted and vision blurred
storms may terrorise and passions get stirred
Don’t baulk, don’t cower, don’t run for cover

Keeping the gale forces under your wings, rise
Resplendent in the boundless expanse of your soul
Rise! Beyond limitations into the bosom of eternity

Soar Like An Eagle - Avril

Where is that inner fire of desire,
kindled from Your breath at my birth?
It is as if my soul is held prisoner
with myself as the jailer.
But I know, that only I have the power
to set myself free
but am just too afraid
to let go of my baggage
and soar to the heights of Heaven.

Tapestry

It feels as if my soul is held prisoner
when my course is twisted and vision blurred.

I baulk, cower, run for cover
just too afraid
to flee the narrow confines of selfishness,
let go of my baggage and shatter
the shackles of fear, lack and oppression.

Where is that inner fire of desire,
kindled from Your breath at birth,
to resist the gravity of my mental blocks?

With myself as the jailer
I know, when storms terrorise
and passions get stirred, that only
I have the power to set myself free
beyond all limitations.

Keeping the gale forces under my wings,
I will rise into the bosom of eternity,
resplendent and boundless,
and soar to the heights of Heaven.

Comment This seamlessly weaved Tapestry indeed made me "soar to the heights of Heaven." Thanks for sharing Shernaz and Avril. What a master of the Tapestry craft are you both!
