Society

Social Change

Women Command
Men Contend
Children Demand
Grandparents just append.

Relatives are none
Friends are for only fun
Strangers are friends
Somebody becomes relative.

Where all of us go?
Where the reality is?

If all of us are reluctant
Who would connect our dots?

Let a fresh hope
bring the following changes
Let a fair swap
happen for ongoing crunches.

Women may become
more realistic and
not materialistic

Men may become
more practical and
not monopolistic

Children may become
more valuable and
not lethargic

Grandparents may become
role models and guide posts
and not just loft-books

Leaders may become
nationalized and not
privatised Banks.

Criminals may become
usable liabilities and
not die on bullets.

If all these changes
happen together
there is nothing else
to feel bothered.

India will be number one
with all hands together.

Comment Much loved this aspirational poem and also the contemporary reality so well depicted in the initial stanzas. Great lines these:

Leaders may become
nationalized and not
privatised Banks.

Thanks for sharing this meaningful poem with subtle satire, N.Ravi.
