The Gifts of Love

Pleasures of love last for a moment
But the pain love gives
Lasts forever.

Transcreation of poem 143 from the collection Sphulinga by Rabindranath Tagore.
It is actually the Bengali translation of the following French poem by Jean Pierre Claris de Florian (1755-1794) –

Plaisir d’amour ne dure qu’um moment,
Chagrin d’amour dure toute la vie.
