Once I left alone at the last corner in dim lights at a café-cave
Neither the old song on radio nor the soft downpour outside
nor almond trees at college park nor Gandhian thoughts, Christ or Gita
nor the revolutionary news from the remote corner of the nation evaded my mind
Oh! Everything seemed like a big void for a moment.
Cigarettes to keep my soul strong and high
Smoke into circles in air reflecting colorless images
Ashes on the floor where I drew an unknown god
An avatar for humanity from fatal destruction
A glee from me and a thousand sledges and slashes
‘Mind’ to surrender at last,
It’s the enemy of peace. Nail it.
A sure savior, the need for survival!
