A gem loses its shine on you;
And you know a gift to you,
Is like taking coal to Newcastle
Or bringing cutlery to Sheffield,
As you are God’s very own,
A treasure trove on this earth;
And it takes all my life to marvel
At your lovely smile just
Sparkling like a set of diamonds.
Well now, let us go out for a walk
Hand in hand dreaming of moon;
And I hope you will forgive me
For one last time as I forgot
To bring you a gift this birthday too!
