Theme: Love

Platonic Love

I long to swim into your heart,
Through your eyes
So deep and bewitching
For beholding
The beauty of your soul;
For a fresher bath,
Purely purged
Of all the gross desires
I yearn to plunge
Into the intimate sea of love,
Ensconced with gems
Of eternal ecstasy
Meant for the journey of life
Pain-built in the external world.

A true and pure replica
Of platonic love,
I strive to carve out
From the rock-hard world
Lost in hatred,
Violence, and conflicts;
For I envision to have
Before my groping eyes...
A paragon of Truth
And celestial Beauty
In my life at peace
Ever beaming with delight,
Under the magical spell
Of your soulful, eternal presence...

Comment "A deep appeal for spirituality and an Utopia beautifully expressed in a distinguished and astonishing style. The coined words are too apt to praise. A poet's desire of seeking shelter for eternal ecstasy in the divine spiritual love beautifully depicted. . . And the lines "strive to carve out. . . Conflict. " sound like the theme of Matthew Arnold expressed by him in his poem the Dover Beach."-
