Beyond Words - A Butter-like Stream of Being

Take me to a place - beyond words where no ideas exist, where opinion has been obliterated, where events happen but, with an acknowledgment of their ephemerality and so they don’t last in the folds of our memories. Take me to a place where experiences have no meaning where the waves of “valueless” existence have churned the life ocean of good and evil, right and wrong into one butter-like stream of smooth, yet throbbing, vivacious state of “Being”

Dear Nathmal ji, and Kulbir ji: I am grateful for your comments, it means so much. The poem was written in Feb of 2002. When I was working on my dissertation, and as an academic I had to constantly 'analyse' and 'critique'. And while we have made it a big deal in academia, I also realise that sometimes it is just pointless. There is something beyond all 'this thought process' which is so pleasant, so rich, and all knowing. Occasionally I would catch it when I was staring out the window (that year I remember looking outside the window only 4 times, when season changed.)--paying attention to a bird song, noticing the color of flowers, or a mischievous smile on a playful child.....I noticed these things only a few times the whole year. And those moments became my support for continuing with the writing I had undertaken --all the time questioning the 'ultimate' purpose of the project.
