The little one, apple of the eye
Spice of attraction, sparkling, for fondling
The loved one looks cherubic
Even while sucking
Then knot-tied, becomes two
Cynosure of the eyes
Kisses fly
Another arrives and yet another
Familiarity breeds negligence for the elders
The spiral opens periphery ward
Hubby, kids . . . grandchildren
Life gets complicated
Solitude is courted
Birds flown, the spouse stays room-tied
Centre stage is for the young
The old nearing the finis
Opens the spiral only to close
This is the law of life for all to obey.
