You think you are of some avail
When you don’t wave back at others,
And you forget only a few know you
Even assuming you are a Kennedy,
Or were you a pope, the last one
Surely waves at you from his balcony,
And it beats me what makes you shrink away
From others who think you are as rare
And important as they are to you either,
For we all live and walk on this holy earth,
Save the trees, footpaths, dustbins and bus stops;
And from next time, please wave back at others
When we say Hi to you and rest assured
Your diamond rings won’t fall off— but
Things going on in your life will come off better!
