Lost in the darkest oblivion of history
His benevolence still exists here felt;
Even the great of the country all over
In his generous court down ever knelt.
The ponds, the temples, the palaces
Found a beautiful place in his heart;
That shaped the picturesque canvass
Of the land of lore and learning smart.
From football, polo, and horse races
To the trains plying in his courtyards;
Contributing more to overall growth
He cradled the scholars and the bards.
Art, culture, language and constitution
Thrived all before his dignified nose;
Dancers and singers of great statures
Enthralled the history with their shows.
Note : Maharajadhiraj Kameshwar Singh (1907-62) was the last Maharaja of Raj Darbhanga.
