And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:5
How grandly does this scene surmount, surprise
vision – it’s always a revelation,
the morning after, its foot on the crest
of the fallen deed, even victory
is vanquished by comparison; the now
is its own prime accomplishment, again
and again; and each time feels finally
achieved, each time relinquished by the quick
of the ongoing with its fresh perspective
that evaporates time, and relegates
endless spells to memory; what then is
the talk of the past or future, or present?
It’s always a revelation, each time
we open our eyes, always a revival.
